Watch: A brilliant diving catch at the boundary line in Wellington vs Central Districts match
A number of T20 leagues, like BBL, SA20, and Super Smash, are underway at the moment. This was match No. 22 between the Wellington and Central Districts. Batting first, the Central Districts made 147/8 in their first inning. In reply, Wellington had a good start, but they lost their opener, Will Young, to an unbelieveable catch. It happened on the second ball of the sixth over.
Michael Snedden bowled a full ball, and the batter played a lofted straight drive. The ball was going towards the boundary line. The ball got the height but not the distance, and the fielder ran backwards and caught the ball, but as soon as he was about to touch the boundary line, he threw the ball towards Nick Kelly, who completed the catch.
Everyone on the ground couldn’t believe what happened and was in awe. However, the Central couldn’t win the game. Wellington made 148/4 in 16.5 overs to win the game. With this win, Wellington have secured their first place on the points table. On the other hand, the Central Districts are third on the table.
