Jitesh Sharma was looking quite threatening as he had scored 21 runs off just 10 balls including a couple of fours and a six. The dismissal of the aggressive PBKS batter brought back Chennai Super Kings into the game as he was dominating the CSK bowlers.

Young pacer Tushar Deshpande was having a terrible outing in the CSK vs PBKS match. He had already leaked 36 runs in his first three overs and came in to bowl the 19th over of Punjab Kings’ innings as Jitesh Sharma looked to play some shots against him.

Deshpande bowled a slower ball outside the off-stump as Jitesh Sharma played a lofted shot in an attempt to clear the long-on boundary. Shaik Rasheed maintained his composure and grabbed the catch well inside the boundary but his momentum kept taking him towards the boundary rope.

Shaik Rasheed eventually slipped as his foot went quite close to the boundary rope as the CSK substitute fielder himself wasn’t sure of taking the catch cleanly. The decision went to the TV umpire, who couldn’t find any conclusive evidence of Rasheed’s feet touching the boundary ropes and adjudged it as out.

The TV umpire went through multiple angles and replays but couldn’t see the rope moving at all and had to rule it in favor of the fielding side. However, commentator Pommie Mbangwa was convinced that Rasheed had touched the rope while completing Jitesh Sharma’s catch.

Jitesh Sharma played a scintillating knock but his dismissal allowed Chennai Super Kings to make a comeback into the game as Punjab Kings still needed 15 runs off the last 8 deliveries. Sikandar Raza scored 3 runs off the last delivery bowled by Matheesha Pathirana as the Shikhar Dhawan-led side eventually won the CSK vs PBKS game.
