IPL 2024: Top five player battles to watch out for in GT vs DC

Match number 32 of this year’s Indian Premier League (IPL) will see Gujarat Titans (GT) facing off against Delhi Capitals (DC). This match takes place at the Narendra Modi Stadium on April 17 (Wednesday). Both teams are currently positioned in the lower half of the IPL 2024 points table.

Shubman Gill is a key player for GT, having performed well this season, scoring the highest runs for his team. As the captain, he aims to lead his team to victory. However, Khaleel Ahmed from DC has a good track record against Gill, having dismissed him twice in 25 balls and conceded 38 runs. Khaleel is in good form, being the leading wicket-taker for DC in the ongoing IPL 2024.

2.David Warner vs Umesh Yadav

David Warner has faced some difficulties in recent games for DC, accumulating a total of 166 runs. Nonetheless, Warner is known for his ability to be a game-changer on his day. DC relies on him for a strong start. Yet, Umesh Yadav from GT has frequently troubled Warner in the past, dismissing him eight times in international cricket and five times in the IPL. Warner has scored 99 runs off 68 balls against Yadav at a strike rate of 145.6.

3.Rishabh Pant vs Rashid Khan

Sai Sudharsan has been an important batsman for GT after Shubman Gill. He has scored 226 runs at an average of 37.36, providing stability to the GT batting lineup. However, he faces a significant challenge against Kuldeep Yadav, who recently made a successful comeback, taking three wickets in the last game. Kuldeep’s variations could prove effective in Ahmedabad, making this battle crucial in the match.

5.Jake Fraser-McGurk vs Mohit Sharma

Jake Fraser-McGurk had a promising start to his IPL career, scoring a fifty on his debut and contributing to his team’s victory against LSG with a 35-ball 55. However, facing Mohit Sharma presents a new challenge. Sharma’s varied slower balls make timing shots difficult. Fraser-McGurk will need to adapt to Sharma’s bowling style to succeed in the GT vs DC matches.
