It has been an unreal hitting display at the M. Chinnaswamy Stadium in Bengaluru by the pair of Rohit Sharma and Rinku Singh. The Indian team is taking on Afghanistan in the third and final game of the series, and at one point, India was in trouble at 22/4 with all four top players getting out cheaply within the first five overs, and it looked like India might face their lowest T20I total.

But not many predicted what happened next. The unbeaten partnership between Rohit and Rinku took India well past the 200-run mark. That partnership had some incredible hitting displays from the pair. The Indian captain became the first player to score five T20 hundreds, and Rinku struck an unbeaten half-century as India finished at 212/4 in the first innings.

On a batting wicket, the Indian top-order failed badly. Rinku joined the Indian captain at 22/4 in 4.3 overs. The pair added 190 runs in just 93 balls. They started slowly and then picked up the pace, and in the end, they went berserk. Both batters added 58 runs in the last two overs, for a total of six sixes in the last 12 balls.

Rohit scored an unbeaten 121 off 69 balls, including 11 fours and 8 sixes. With this, he went past England’s Eoin Morgan’s tally of 86 sixes for most sixes as a T20 captain. As a captain, Rohit has hit 90 sixes now. On the other hand, Rinku scored his second T20I fifty and made 69 off 39 balls, with two fours and six sixes. Both batters collected 36 runs in the last over off Karim Janat.

The over started with a four, and it was followed by a six off no-ball. Rohit hit another six off free hit, and took a single on the third ball of the over. In the last three balls, Rinku smashed three consecutive sixes. It was only the third time 36 runs were conceded in a single over in a T20 international. This was India’s highest partnership in the T20.
