England has performed poorly in the ICC Cricket World Cup 2023. The defending champions have not even reached their best performance, which is why they are sitting in 9th place in the ten-team tournament. England has lost four games out of the five they have played and is coming off three consecutive defeats. Their next challenge is against India, which is at the top of the points table.

India is undefeated in the competition and is looking very strong. It will be a hard challenge for an under pressured England to beat India. That game will take place on Sunday at the Ekana Stadium in Lucknow. However, former English captain Nasser Hussain has made a big statement and asked England to show India that who they are.

“Remind India and the world just how great England are”- Nasser Hussain ahead IND-ENG clash

Everyone predicted England to be one of the semi-finalists of the tournament. But the way they have performed. They lost to Afghanistan and Sri Lanka, which are weaker opponents as compared to them. They were bowled out for 156 runs in the last game against Sri Lanka and suffered a heavy defeat. However, Naseer Hussain reckons that England should play like champions and show India and the world that they are the best.

In his column for The Daily Mail, Naseer wrote, “The players must take responsibility for this. I’m not a great one for cliches like playing for the badge, but that’s what England has got to do now. They have to go to Lucknow on Sunday and spoil India’s party. They must remind India and the world just how great cricketers they have been and still are.”

England is on the verge of being eliminated, and only a miracle can save them. They have four games left to play, and they need our wins to stay alive in the competition. So far, they haven’t had a great performance, which is not what they would have liked.
