ICC Cricket World Cup 2023: Team India has been the best team in the ICC Cricket World Cup 2023 so far. They are the only team that has won all games and is at the top of the points table. India has 10 points with four games left to play. Virat Kohli has been in tremendous form and is the second-highest run scorer in the competition.

Virat has scored 354 runs in five matches, including one hundred and three half-centuries. This could have been two hundreds, had he not missed in the last game against New Zealand and gotten out at 95 runs. Virat missed his hundred just by five runs in that game.

“Virat Kohli will score his 50th Hundred at Eden Gardens against South Africa”- Sunil Gavaskar makes a big prediction

He has scored 48 hundreds so far and is one behind Sachin Tendulkar, who has 49 hundreds in his ODI career. The former Indian captain needs just two more hundreds to break Sachin’s record and reach 50 ODI hundreds. If it happens, then it will be the first time that any batter reaches 50 ODI hundreds. Former Indian captain Sunil Gavaskar reckons that Virat will score his 50th ODI hundred on his birthday on November 5.

India will face South Africa on that day at the Eden Gardens. Gavaskar said that his birthday will be a pretty special moment for him to achieve the world record. In a discussion on Star Sports, Gavaskar said, “Kohli will slam his 50th ODI Century against South Africa at the Eden Gardens, and what better occasion than his birthday? It’s a sight when you slam a ton there because the Kolkata crowd gives you a standing ovation and cheers for you.”

Virat has 78 international hundreds and he is behind Sachin with 100 international centuries. He has a great chance to try to break that world record. If he can keep up his good form, then there are chances that Virat might end up scoring more than 100 centuries before his retirement.
