The ICC Cricket World Cup 2023 has been a run-scoring tournament, with teams scoring 300-plus totals consistently. Even batters have enjoyed batting on Indian pitches that have nothing much in it for the bowlers. A total of 15 batters have already scored hundreds in the first 24 matches, while two have scored multiple centuries.

Quinton de Kock scored his third hundred of the competition yesterday in the game against Bangladesh in Mumbai. Today, David Warner has completed his second successive hundred in this tournament. He has scored 104 runs off 93 balls, with 11 fours and 3 sixes, in the ongoing game against Netherlands in Delhi. With this hundred, Warner has made some big records.

ICC Cricket World Cup 2023: David Warner and Glenn Maxwell break some big World Records with hundreds against Netherlands

David Warner scored a brilliant 163 in the last game against Pakistan and followed it up with another hundred against Netherlands today. It was the 22nd ODI century of his career. With this, he became only the fourth Australian batter after Mark Waugh (1996), Ricky Ponting (2003–07), and Matthew Hayden (2007) to score consecutive hundreds in ODI World Cup history.

It was also the 6th century for David Warner in World Cup history. He has now equaled Sachin Tendulkar for the second-most hundreds in the World Cup. Both batters now have six hundreds. Warner is just one hundred behind Rohit Sharma. Warner scored his 22nd hundred in 153 innings and is the third fastest to achieve this landmark. Hashim Amla (126) and Virat Kohli (143) are ahead of him.

On the other hand, Glenn Maxwell has been superb. He has smashed the fastest hundred in World Cup history off just 40 balls. Maxwell went past Aiden Markram’s record of 49 balls. Maxwell hit eight fours and eight sixes in his inning. He made 106 runs off 44 balls in his inning against Netherlands.
