Veteran Indian batter Sunil Gavaskar asked CSK skipper MS Dhoni for his autograph when CSK players were giving a lap of honour to fans at the Chepauk Stadium in Chennai. Gavaskar reacted to the incident and talked about his love for Dhoni who has been a great role model for the youngsters.

Right after the post-match presentation, Chennai Super Kings’ players were giving a lap of honour to thank the fans as MS Dhoni distributed a few gifts to them. It was a crazy scene at the Chepauk Stadium in Chennai as cricket fans roared and cheered loudly for the CSK team and for skipper Dhoni.

Sunil Gavaskar was in conversation with Star Sports alongside former English batter Kevin Pietersen. He left the interview midway during the lap of honor and rushed towards the CSK skipper, stopped him and then handed him a pen.

MS Dhoni then signed an autograph on Sunil Gavaskar’s shirt and later both of them hugged each other. The Veteran batter then returned for the interview where he revealed that he had already had a pen borrowed when he heard that MS Dhoni was going to be part of the lap of honour.

“Who doesn’t love MS Dhoni? What he has done for Indian cricket over the years, it’s been amazing. For me, the most important thing is the kind of role model he has been. There are so many youngsters in India who look up to him. The way he has handled himself is absolutely fantastic,” Gavaskar stated while talking to Star Sports.

It was a heartwarming moment for the cricket fans at the Chepauk Stadium to see Legendary Sunil Gavaskar asking CSK skipper MS Dhoni for his autograph. Chennai Super Kings are currently placed at the number 2 spot in the IPL 2023 points table and are eyeing a spot for the playoffs.
