“Rashid Khan Is the Greatest T20 Player”, AB de Villiers

Often regarded as one of the greatest players ever to grace the sport, former South Africa skipper AB de Villiers has picked Afghanistan’s star leg-spinner Rashid Khan as the greatest T20 player of all time, saying that he contributes in all departments, which makes him a match winner.

T20 is the most exciting format of the game and is popular among cricket fans due to its format. Several players have played this fast-moving format but only a few have managed to create a legacy of their own. Chris Gayle, Lasith Malinga, Virat Kohli, MS Dhoni, Kieron Pollard, Dwayne Bravo, Shoaib Malik, Imran Tahir, Sunil Narine. The list can go on and on. ABD himself is one of the greatest T20 batters. Amongst the aforementioned names, de Villiers has played with Gayle, Kohli, and Tahir. Despite sharing the dressing room with three of the best players, ABD picks Rashid as the GOAT T20 player.

De Villiers Picks Rashid Ahead of Kohli, Gayle and Malinga

De Villiers was asked to choose the greatest T20 player of all time, but neither he chose himself, nor did he choose his former RCB teammates Kohli and Gayle. He instead picked the 24-year-old T20 globetrotter, Rashid Khan as the greatest T20 player.

“My greatest T20 player of all time is none other than Rashid Khan. He delivers with bat and ball. Match winner in both departments; he is a livewire in the field and has got the heart of a lion. He always wants to win; he’s very competitive, and he’s right there with one of the best T20 players. Not one of the best, the best”, said AB De Villiers in a video posted by SuperSport Tv on their social media.

Afghanistan’s wrecker-in-chief with the ball and is renowned to bamboozle opposition with the ball in hand. The leg spinner has got many tricks up the sleeve with the ball. He can bowl flipper, googly, and regular leg spin with fierce pace and accuracy. Rashid barely misses his mark in terms of line and length. Though not a big turner of the ball, Rashid puts batters under pressure with his speed through the air while maintaining a wicket-to-wicket line. Many batters fear facing the spin wizard due to his reputation as a proven wicket-taker.
