1. Rovman Powell
Rovman Powell was brilliant as a finisher for the Delhi Capitals in IPL 2022. His 250 runs last season came at a strike rate of 146.02 and it looked like he would dominate opponent bowlers in IPL 2023 as well with his Caribbean power.
However, he got just 3 opportunities this season and has scored just 7 runs after which he was dropped from the playing XI. The DC team management have given enough opportunities to other overseas players like Rilee Rossouw and Mitchell Marsh but they didn’t stick with Rovman Powell.

2. Chetan Sakariya
Chetan Sakariya has got just 1 opportunity in IPL 2023 in which he took a couple of wickets but conceded 53 runs. The left-arm pacer had a great season in the domestic circuit where he performed well in all the formats of the game.
Sakariya has done pretty well in IPL in the previous edition and certainly deserves a chance in Delhi Capitals’ Playing XI in their remaining two games.
3. Abhishek Porel
Abhishek Porel was brought in by the DC team management as the replacement for injured Rishabh Pant. The young Bengal wicketkeeper didn’t get enough opportunities to prove his talent as he was given only 4 opportunities in IPL 2023.
Porel has scored just 20 runs in the 4 games but was excellent behind the wickets. He has also taken one of the best catches of IPL 2023.
4. Prithvi Shaw
In the absence of Rishabh Pant, Prithvi Shaw was the biggest Indian name in the DC batting lineup. They must have expected him to fire right from the word go to provide momentum in the powerplay overs.
However, Prithvi Shaw failed miserably in IPL 2023 as he just scored 47 runs in 7 games. In the last 13 games for Delhi Capitals, he hasn’t got a single 50+ score. However, they haven’t got results from other batters as well and might give him another chance to prove his potential.
5. Sarfaraz Khan
Sarfaraz Khan had a dream run in the past one year in the domestic circuit. He was expected to deliver the same results for the Delhi Capitals side. However, he got just 4 opportunities in IPL 2023 for them.
He failed to perform in the 4 games he played and just scored 53 runs with a strike rate of 85.48. Considering his talent, Sarfaraz Khan certainly deserves a chance in Delhi Capitals’ playing XI in their remaining two games.
