ICC World Cup 2022 which is happening in Australia the rain is troubling and disturbing the matches a lot, as we can observe many warm-up matches got abandoned and many got reduced overs. The climatic conditions of Australia are unpredictable, this disturbs the heart of the fans and they feel very low.

The match between Zimbabwe and South Africa which was held on 24 October 2022 at Bellerive Oval, Hobart was called off due to rain. South Africa was in a winning position but at last, the rain came in between the match and got each one point. The way Quinton de Kock was batting was impressive but the rain once again came and spoiled a crucial and great match for Proteas.

South Africa were comfortably chasing a reduced target of 64 off seven overs, after the match was already reduced to nine overs per side due to rain, and made an electric start with De Kock smashing 23 in the first over alone. The play was briefly stopped again due to rain but De Kock picked up where he left off, accelerating to a brutal 18-ball 47. But with the rain pouring down and Zimbabwe unable to utilise their fast bowlers in the conditions – Richard Ngarava having slipped in his follow-through during the opening over – the umpires finally decided the third over to be the final one, leaving South Africa stranded.

Earlier, having elected to bat, Zimbabwe lost openers Craig Ervine (two) and Regis Chakabva (eight) in the powerplay and were left reeling at 12 for three before the end of the third over after the in-form Sikandar Raza fell for a duck to Lungi Ngidi.

Madhevere top-scored with an unbeaten 35 off 18 balls while Shumba added 18 before being dismissed on the last ball of the innings, with Zimbabwe were also awarded five penalty runs after the ball rolled into De Kock’s wicketkeeping glove on the field.

Zimbabwe will play Pakistan in their next Super 12 match in Perth on Thursday while South Africa face Bangladesh, who kicked off their T20 World Cup with a laboured nine-run win over the Netherlands after paceman Taskin Ahmed took four wickets.
