IND vs ENG: One of the blockbuster series between India and England is all set to be played in January and March. The five-match test series is very important for both teams in the ongoing World Test Championship. Team India played in the finals of the previous two editions but ended up losing. They might look to make it third-time lucky. In that order, this coming series will be very important.
Team India are currently on South Africa tour for a multi-format series. They will play three T20Is, three ODIs, and two tests on the tour, and it will conclude with the second test on January 7. After that, the Men in Blue will host England for the five-match series, which will start on January 25.
IND vs ENG: England announces a strong squad for the upcoming Test series
The England and Wales Cricket Board (ECB) has announced a 16-player squad for the coming India tour. Ben Stokes will be leading the team, which is currently completing his rehab after knee surgery. Top-order batter Olle Pope will be the vice captain of the team. With the conditions in India favoring spin, England has announced a spin-heavy bowling attack.
Jack Leach will be England’s main spinner, who is also making his comeback after missing out in Ashes 2023 after an injury. Three more spinners that are featured in the squad are Rehan Ahmed, Tom Hartley, and Shoaib Bashir. Gus Atkinson has earned his maiden test callup after doing well in the white-ball format. Ollie Robinson and Mark Wood are the other two pacers. The five matches will be played in Hyderabad, Vizag, Rajkot, Ranchi, and Dharamsala, respectively.
