Sanjay Manjrekar previewed the GT vs MI contest on ESPN Cricinfo and stated that he is looking forward to the clash between the world’s best T20 batter and the best bowler in the format. Both Rashid Khan and Suryakumar Yadav have been in scintillating form in IPL 2023.

“There is one of the world’s best T20 bowlers on one side – Rashid Khan. On the other hand, there is Suryakumar Yadav, the world’s best T20 batter. I am not saying the contest will decide the match, but it will be the contest to look forward to. On very few occasions do you get to witness the world’s best T20 batter taking on the best T20 bowler,” Sanjay Manjrekar stated on ESPN Cricinfo.

The pitch used in IPL 2023 Qualifier 2 will suit both MI and GT: Sanjay Manjrekar

“This pitch will suit Mumbai Indians as well as Gujarat Titans. Titans will be happy that they are not playing in Chepauk and have returned to Ahmedabad. Their hard-hitters will be a lot more effective here,” the former batter discussed about Ahmedabad’s pitch.

Gujarat Titans remained the best team in the league stage of IPL 2023 and finished at the first position in the points table. Mumbai Indians were termed as the weakest side in the qualifiers but have got the winning momentum in the last few games.

In the league stage Mumbai Indians defeated Gujarat Titans courtesy of a heroic ton by Suryakumar Yadav at the Wankhede Stadium. However, GT all-rounder Rashid Khan too played a brilliant knock of 79 runs and grabbed a 4-wicket haul in that game.

On the other hand, Gujarat Titans had defeated the MI side in their first league encounter in Ahmedabad. The winner of Qualifier 2 will meet the MS Dhoni-led Chennai Super Kings in the IPL 2023 final at the Narendra Modi Stadium in Ahmedabad on May 28.
