Road Safety World Series 2022: Great news for the Indian fans as Indian legend Sachin Tendulkar is all set to make his return to the cricket field for the second edition of the Road Safety World Series that will take place from September 10, 2022. Road Safety World Series 2022: Venues for the Tournament
Unlike last time, the popular tournament is having four venues on this occasion. Kanpur, Raipur, Indore, and Dehradun will host the matches with Kanpur hosting the opener and Raipur will host the semifinals and final. The first edition of the tournament had to take place at four venues but couldn’t because of the pandemic. Only four games took place in 2020 in two different venues and the remaining tournament was held in Raipur in 2021.
The First edition of the tournament included 7 teams with Australia forfeiting the tournament after playing just 1 match due to Covid-19 restrictions. The other teams that took part in the tournament were Sri Lanka Legends, South Africa Legends, West Indies Legends, England Legends, and Bangladesh Legends. Now, New Zealand Legends will be added to the tournament along with all the teams that played before. Australia Legends too will play the whole tournament.
Road Safety World Series 2022: Result of The Previous Edition
India Legends won the first edition of the tournament by beating Sri Lanka Legends in the final. They won the title after beating Sri Lanka by 14 runs. Yusuf Pathan was the highest scorer for India in the final with 62* in 36 deliveries. He was also the pick of the bowlers with 2 wickets to his name.
Road Safety World Series is supported by the Ministry of Road Transport and Highways and the Ministry of Information and Technology and Youth Affairs and Sports of the Government of India.
