Shaheen Shah Afridi has been in a major spotlight, in the last year or so. Shaheen was deemed to be Pakistan’s upcoming star in the Under-19 World Cup 2018, and he hasn’t taken a lot of time to stamp his authority in international cricket. He didn’t play enough domestic cricket and was rather fast-tracked to the international set-up, because of his enormous potential.

Since his international debut in 2018, the left-arm quick has represented his nation in 88 matches across formats. Shaheen is a true fast-bowler and has all the skills to be a mainstay in the Pakistan side for a long time.

Apart from the left-arm angle, Shaheen brings it all to the table: he can move the ball, he has got pace and bounce, he has got yorkers and variations. If you are looking for best cricket betting tips then do check it here.

In a 25-questions series video chat with ESPNcricinfo, Shaheen was asked about his dream hat-trick. Shaheen picked Rohit Sharma, KL Rahul and Virat Kohli in his dream hat-trick. He also chose Kohli as his most prized wicket so far. Interestingly, Shaheen scalped all the big fishes in the previous match against India in the T20 World Cup 2021.

While he got Rohit and Rahul out with the new ball, he outsmarted Kohli in the death overs with a slower delivery. Shaheen also won the ‘Player of the Match’ award for his match-winning spell of 31 runs for three big wickets. The 21-years old also had a decent World Cup. Averaging 24.14 with the ball, he snared 7 wickets at an economy of just 7.04.

The young sensation was also awarded the Sir Garfield Sobers Trophy for being ICC Men’s Cricketer of the year (2021). Afridi was great in the T20I and Test cricket, in particular. Shaheen picked up 78 wickets in 36 matches at an average of around 22.

Meanwhile, India and Pakistan are set to lock horns on 23rd October in T20 World Cup 2022 in Australia. While India would be eager to take revenge for the previous loss, Pakistan would try to register their second victory against India in the World Cup tournaments.
