IPL 2022 LIVE: Harshal Patel has reportedly left the Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB) bubble in the middle of the ongoing Indian Premier League (IPL) 2022. Find more IPL match predictions and updates from the upcoming match here.

RCB bowler Harshal has left the bubble to be with his family following the death of his sister. The 31-year-old pacer left the RCB bubble after their IPL 2022 clash with Mumbai Indians (MI) on Saturday.

“Unfortunately, Harshal had to leave the bio-bubble due to a death in his family. It was his sister. He did not take the team bus back to Mumbai from Pune. He will be rejoining the bubble before the next game against CSK on April 12,” said an IPL source, according to PTI.

However, it is still unclear if Harshal would have to undergo the mandatory three-day quarantine before rejoining RCB’s bio-bubble. Faf du Plessis-led RCB have just a two-day break before their next game in IPL 2022.

RCB defeated MI by seven wickets at MCA Stadium, Pune on Saturday. While it was RCB’s third straight victory in IPL 2022, it was MI’s fourth straight loss. The five-time champions, along with defending champions CSK, are yet to register a win in the ongoing season.

In the IPL 2022 table, RCB are placed third with six points in four matches, with Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) at the top with the same points but a superior net run rate.

Against MI, Harshal picked up two wickets, while he gave away just 23 runs in his quota of four overs. The two scalps of Harshal included a vital wicket of MI captain Rohit Sharma. Riding on Suryakumar Yadav’s incredible knock towards the end, MI managed to put up a respectable total of 151 runs in 20 overs. Otherwise, MI were six-down for 79 runs in 13.2 overs.

Harshal bowled economically in his first three overs as he leaked just 16 runs but had bagged two wickets as well. The RCB bowler began his final over well too as MI managed just one run off the first five deliveries. However, Suryakumar struck a six on the final ball of Harshal’s over.

With six wickets in four games, Harshal stands sixth in the Purple Cap table, with Umesh Yadav at the top with nine scalps. RCB’s Wanindu Hasaranga is second in the list with eight wickets, ahead of a trio with seven scalps each – Yuzvendra Chahal, Rahul Chahar, and Avesh Khan.

RCB’s Harshal had a fine run last season as he finished as the leading wicket-taker. He bagged 32 wickets at 14.34. RCB finished third last season as they lost to KKR in the eliminator ending their chances of making it to their fourth IPL final.

As a result of his excellent performances in the IPL, Harshal earned his India debut. The bowler has picked up 11 wickets from eight T20Is he has so far played for India.
