TATA IPL 2022 LIVE: Ricky Ponting Offers Update on Mitchell Marsh’s Availability
TATA IPL 2022 LIVE: Delhi Capitals (DC) head coach Ricky Ponting has given an update on injured Mitchell Marsh’s availability in the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2022. Australia’s Marsh suffered a hip flexor injury during a training session in Pakistan just ahead of their opening One-Day International (ODI) in Lahore. While Marsh was ruled out of the series, the visitors ended up losing the series 2-1. Here are today’s IPL match predictions and updates for the upcoming match.
Marsh directly traveled to India from Pakistan last month. Once his quarantine is completed, the Aussie all-rounder will begin his rehabilitation process with his new IPL franchise DC. After beating Mumbai Indians (MI) in their opening game of IPL 2022, DC suffered a setback in their second game. First-timers Gujarat Titans defeated Rishabh Pant and Co by 14 runs in Pune on Saturday.

In a post-match conference, DC head coach Ponting gave an update on three players: David Warner, Anrich Nortje, and March.
“Mitchell Marsh has been in Mumbai for a few days, obviously getting his quarantine done. I think he might be out of quarantine tomorrow actually. We are hoping that he [Marsh] is gonna be available for the game on the 10th [against Kolkata Knight Riders]. He picked up that slight hip flexor strain in Pakistan.
“So we need to get a lot of treatment work into him and obviously a few good training sessions before he is available for selection,” said Ponting.

Australia opener Warner, who missed DC’s opening two games of IPL 2022 due to international commitments, reached Mumbai on Sunday. IPL 2022 LIVE: David Warner should play in DC vs LSG, says Ricky Ponting
The players have been asked to undergo a three-day quarantine on joining a team bubble in the ongoing edition of IPL. Considering DC have a four-day break before their next fixture in the IPL 2022, Ponting is confident to have Warner in his next playing XI.
“Fingers crossed, Davey should be there for the next game and Mitch Marsh for the game after,” the DC coach added. DC are scheduled to take on Lucknow Super Giants (LSG) at DY Patil Stadium, Navi Mumbai, on Thursday (April 7).
Speaking about South Africa pacer Nortje, Ponting said the fast bowler is just four or five-over spells away from being declared match fit.
Nortje made his IPL debut in the 2020 edition with DC. He picked up 22 wickets in 16 games. He was DC’s second-leading wicket-taker that season, behind Kagiso Rabada. The Proteas duo played a key role in helping DC reach their maiden IPL final. Unfortunately, they lost the showdown to Mumbai Indians (MI) in Dubai.
Ahead of the IPL 2022, DC chose to retain Nortje, but not Rabada, who eventually was signed by Punjab Kings (PBKS) at the mega auction in February. Looking for more IPL betting tips and match guides from the experts? Check it out here.
