TATA IPL 2022 LIVE: Australia all-rounder Mitchell Marsh is set to join Delhi Capitals camp. He was ruled out of the white-ball series against Pakistan. Find here more IPL match predictions and updates for the upcoming match.

Marsh suffered a hip flexor injury during a training drill with the Australian side. It happened just a day before the first ODI against Pakistan in Lahore. With the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2022 currently underway in India, Marsh will begin his rehabilitation with DC.

“Marsh will travel to India to link with the Delhi Capitals squad where former Australian and current New South Wales physiotherapist Pat Farhart will manage his recovery following an isolation period,” Cricket Australia said in a statement on Wednesday (March 30).

DC spent INR 6.5 crore for Marsh, who was anyway going to miss the initial games of IPL 2022 due to international commitment.

“Being able to focus on my recovery without the travel and isolation break is the best approach. I am disappointed to miss the Pakistan series but look forward to re-joining the Australian squad for our next tour,” Marsh said.

Apart from Marsh, DC are also without his compatriot David Warner at the moment. The explosive opener recently flew from Pakistan to Australia for Shane Warne’s funeral. The former Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH) skipper is expected to join his new franchise, DC, after April 6, according to reports.

Marsh has been one of Australia’s best limited-overs players in recent times. He was a member of Australia’s T20 World Cup-winning side last year. He scored an unbeaten 77 in the final against New Zealand to help Australia clinch their maiden title. The 30-year-old was also a part of the Michael Clarke-led side that lifted World Cup at home in 2015.

After helping Australia win the T20 World Cup last year in the UAE, Marsh then played a crucial role in Perth Scorchers’ title victory in the Big Bash League 2021-22.

The Aussie cricketer, who has been playing T20s since 2009, has scored 3,241 runs in 137 matches, while he has also picked up 66 wickets.

Moreover, Marsh has had an injury history in the IPL. Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH) were forced to bring in Jason Holder in the 2020 season after Marsh suffered an injury in his first game. The following year, Marsh withdrew from the tournament citing personal reasons. SRH then signed Jason Roy as the Aussie’s replacement.
