TATA IPL 2022 LIVE: The opening encounter of Indian Premier League (IPL) 2022 on Saturday saw several players clinch records, even forgettable ones too. Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) kickstarted their tournament on a high as they defeated the reigning champions Chennai Super Kings (CSK) comprehensively at Wankhede Stadium, Mumbai. Find here the IPL sponsors lists and IPL Match predictions for the 2022 Season.
KKR’s new captain Shreyas Iyer had a fine outing in his first game as captain with the two-time winners. After he won the toss and asked CSK to bat, Iyer’s bowlers did the job as they restricted CSK at 131 for 5 in 20 overs. KKR chased that down with six wickets and nine deliveries to spare.

Let’s take a look at 5 milestones achieved during CSK vs KKR on Saturday:
Ravindra Jadeja
Just two days ahead of the start of the tournament, Ravindra Jadeja replaced MS Dhoni as CSK’s captain. Jadeja played the most number of matches before captaining in the IPL – 200 games, ahead of Manish Pandey (153 games), Kieron Pollard (137 games), Ravichandran Ashwin (111 games), Sanju Samson (107 games), and Bhuvneshwar Kumar (103 games).
Umesh Yadav
IPL 2022 went underway with Umesh Yadav’s no ball, which he bowled to CSK opener Ruturaj Gaikwad. It was clearly not an ideal way to kickstart a tournament, which also made the pacer the first bowler to begin an IPL season with a no-ball.

Ruturaj Gaikwad
The CSK opener won the Orange Cap last season as he finished as the leading run-scorer with 635 runs in 16 games at an average of 45.36. When Gaikwad was dismissed for a duck on Saturday, he became the first player to win the Orange Cap in a season, and begin the subsequent campaign with a duck.
After the first four deliveries of the first over, which included a no ball and a wide, Umesh bounced back by dismissing Gaikwad.

MS Dhoni
After going two seasons without scoring an IPL fifty, Dhoni finally turned tables with the bat on Saturday. He scored an unbeaten 50 off 38 deliveries. By doing so, the former CSK skipper became the oldest Indian player to score an IPL half-century at 40 years and 262 days. Dhoni broke the previous record that was held by Rahul Dravid. The Indian head coach scored a half-century at 40 years and 116 days in the 2013 season. Third on the list is Sachin Tendulkar, who achieved the feat at 39 years and 362 days.
Dwayne Bravo
CSK’s veteran bowler, Dwayne Bravo, picked up three wickets in KKR’s innings and equaled Lasith Malinga in the list of most wickets in the IPL – 170 scalps. The three KKR batsmen who fell to Bravo on Saturday were Venkatesh Iyer, Nitesh Rana, and Sam Billings.
Jadeja-led CSK are next scheduled to play on Thursday (March 31) against this season’s debutants Lucknow Super Giants (LSG). On the other hand, KKR’s next fixture is against Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB) on Wednesday. Do check here fo more IPL betting tips and match guides for the upcoming match.
