Sunrisers Hyderabad had lost openers Abhishek Sharma and Rahul Tripathi by the 5th over of their innings. SRH skipper Aiden Markram too was dismissed by Shahbaz Ahmed for 18 off 20 balls after which Heinrich Klassen played a sensational innings to take his side to a competitive total.

Heinrich Klaasen looked to dominate the opponent bowlers right since he came in to bat on a tough Hyderabad wicket. He smashed 16 runs off the final over of powerplay against Royal Challengers Bangalore spinner Shahbaz Ahmed including 3 boundaries and made his intentions pretty clear.

The SRH batter stitched a 76-run partnership with his captain Aiden Markram and a 74-run stand with young batter Harry Brook. Klaasen brought up his fifty in just 24 deliveries as he kept attacking the RCB bowlers right from the word go and never allowed them to bowl as per their plans.

In the 15th over of SRH innings Harry Brook and Klaasen smashed Karn Sharma for 21 runs. The keeper-batter again smashed a couple of maximums in the 16th over bowled by Shahbaz Ahmed. The keeper-batter made sure throughout his innings that the SRH side never lost the momentum.

Right through his innings, Heinrich Klassen made sure to dominate the RCB spin duo of Shahbaz Ahmed and Karn Sharma. He eventually reached the 100-run mark off just 49 deliveries in the 19th over as he smashed a six down the ground against RCB pacer Harshal Patel.

The SRH batter was eventually dismissed for a well made 104 in 51 deliveries including 8 fours and 6 monstrous sixes. Heinrich Klaasen’s ton was the second fastest IPL hundred for Sunrisers Hyderabad after David Warner who had hit a 43-ball hundred against Kolkata Knight Riders way back in 2017.
