RR finished as the runners-up in the last season and will look to take the momentum ahead in IPL 2023 after adding a couple of more match winners in their squad.

RR will start their campaign on April 2 against the Sunrisers Hyderabad and will look to start on a high note. SRH will miss a few of their key players in the first game which can further help Rajasthan Royals against the Orange Army.

Unlike other IPL franchises, Rajasthan Royals is blessed to have all their major players available for selection right from the first match. Prasidh Krishna is the only player that they will miss who might get replaced by Sandeep Sharma.

The Rajasthan-based franchise is known for having big overseas match-winners and so is the case for them in IPL 2023 as well. Hence, they might face a problem of plenty while selecting their 4 overseas players.

Here’s the list of 4 overseas players who might feature in Rajasthan Royals’ playing XI against Sunrisers Hyderabad on April 2.

1. Jos Buttler

In the last few seasons, Jos Buttler has become synonymous with Rajasthan Royals. If Buttler does well there’s a high possibility of RR qualifying for the playoffs once again in the upcoming season. Buttler scored 863 runs with an exceptional strike rate of 149 in IPL 2022 and went on to win the Orange Cap. He also scored 4 tons which allowed his side to reach the finals in the previous edition.

2. Trent Boult

Trent Boult has done extremely well both for his national side and IPL franchises. He was earlier a part of the Mumbai Indians franchise and then moved to RR in IPL 2022 and performed exceptionally with the new ball. While Boult swings the ball in his first spell, he has performed well enough in the death overs as well. He has already grabbed 92 wickets in the Indian Premier League with an economy rate of just 8.3.

3. Jason Holder

Holder is the latest member in the RR squad and will provide the much-needed balance to their side. Rajasthan Royals signed Jason Holder for INR 5.75 crore in the IPL 2023 auction as they badly needed a genuine all-rounder. In the absence of Prasiddh Krishna, Holder can share the new ball with Trent Boult. He can also play some crucial knocks at the number 7 position whenever the top order fails to deliver.

The West Indies batter is hailed as a classic shot-maker and has shown some glimpses in IPL as well. He was part of Delhi Capitals and was picked by Rajasthan Royals ahead of IPL 2022. Shimron Hetmyer finished a couple of games for the Rajasthan Royals side in the previous edition and will look to do the same in IPL 2023. RR will rely on him in crunch overs as they don’t have any other match-finisher.
