Ever since Babar Azam rose to fame owing to his consistency, the player has often been compared with Virat Kohli. On several occasions, there arises the question of which of the two is better. Many times former cricket experts have already spoken about it. However, in a recent conversation with Rashid Khan, it was his chance to answer the question.

The Afghanistan spin sensation Rashid Khan has enough experience in facing both the batters. Rashid Khan has often spoken about his liking towards Virat Kohli and even now, the answer was no different. The spinner applauded Kohli for his batting techniques (cover drive) but also added that Babar Azam comes closest to the former Indian skipper. He furthermore added that it was a tough choice to pick between Kane Williamson, Babar Azam, and Virat Kohli.

“I think Virat Kohli plays that shot [cover drive] better than anyone in the world. His cover drive looks good and sounds good. Yes, definitely, Babar is very close [second]. It is tough competition between Babar and Virat and also Kane Williamson,” Rashid Khan said. The spinner is currently representing Gujarat Titans in the IPL. The team will play their second consecutive qualifier, this time against Chennai Super Kings.

Rashid Khan has played a crucial role in the defending champions’ journey to semi-finals this year too. Interestingly, Khan in addition to showcasing his bowling skills, also delivered one of his best T20s knocks in the game against Mumbai Indians. Rashid Khan came out to bat after their batting line-up had collapsed. While Gujarat couldn’t win that game, the spinner smashed Mumbai bowlers across the ground scoring 79 runs in just 32 balls with 10 sixes and just 3 fours. The player is currently on the second spot in the purple cap holder list, just below his teammate Mohammad Shami.

After the RCB vs GT game, Rashid Khan also applauded both Virat Kohli and Shubman Gill for their respective centuries. “I am so lucky to witness two brilliant hundreds today. Virat bhai and Shubman, the way they both played, was unbelievable. Shubman has been working very hard. He has the belief that he can convert his 50s and 60s into 100 so he has been a very consistent player for us since last year. Played a brilliant innings and I am happy for him,” Khan said.
