Thanks to Bhanuka Rajapaksa’s well-made innings of 71 not out in 45 balls and Wanindu Hasaranga’s cameo that helped the team reach 170 after they were 58 for 5. There’s no doubt that catches are essential to help you win games, however, pressure can get better off anyone. Under the pressure of the big final, Pakistani pacer Shadab Khan dropped Bhanuka Rajapaksa’s catch that proved to be costly for the team.

Shadab Khan pens down a tweet after dropping a crucial catch in Asia Cup finals
The Sri Lankan batsman was trying to look for the boundary but couldn’t hit hard enough. The ball was in the hands of Shadab Khan, however, he collided with Asif Ali who also was trying to take the catch. The accident not only resulted in the catch being dropped but also Shadab being hurt. Nonetheless, there was nothing injured and he was back on his feet soon.
After the Asia Cup final, Shadab taking responsibility for the catch apologized to the fans. He tweeted, “Catches win matches. Sorry, I take responsibility for this loss. I let my team down. Positives for the team, @iNaseemShah, @HarisRauf14, @mnawaz94 and the entire bowling attack was great. @iMRizwanPak fought hard. The entire team tried their best. Congratulations to Sri Lanka.”
Babar Azam and Fakhar Zaman’s below-average performance continued in the Asia Cup finals too. Mohammad Rizwan once again became the highest run scorer not only for his team but of the tournament too. Rizwan’s slow knock in the already intense run-chase built additional pressure on the team. They were all out for 147 runs and Wanindu Hasaranga was declared man of the tournament for his brilliant performances.
