Top 5 players Who Are Yet to Get a Game in IPL 2023 After First Half of the Season

IPL 2023 has entered the second phase of its league stage as 37 games have been played in the cash-rich league so far. While we have seen some spectacular individual performances till now, there are still a few talented players who are yet to get a game in IPL 2023.

1. Joe Root

Joe Root has a great record against spinners and as the tournament progresses Rajasthan Royals might be tempted to use his technique against spinners. They have a fragile middle-order and need a solid batsman specifically on tougher wickets.

The English batter can contribute with his leadership qualities as well. He has a decent record in T20Is as he has amassed 893 runs in 32 games with a strike rate of 126.31. However, he is yet to make his debut in Indian Premier League.

2. Quinton de Kock

Quinton de Kock was the pillar of Lucknow Super Giants batting in IPL 2022 as he scored most of the runs for them along with their skipper KL Rahul. He has scored 2764 runs in 92 matches with an average of 32.14 and a strike rate of 133.91.

He’s yet to get a game in IPL 2023 despite being in sublime form as Kyle Mayers started off well for them. While the last couple of games haven’t gone great for both Kyle Mayers and KL Rahul, Quinton de Kock will expect his chances in the second half of the tournament.

3. Shivam Mavi

Shivam Mavi made his international debut earlier this year against Sri Lanka and bowled pretty decently under the leadership of Hardik Pandya. He was bought by Gujarat Titans in the IPL 2023 auction for a price of INR 6 crore.

Mavi has taken 30 wickets in 32 games with an economy rate of 8.71. Gujarat Titans will look to give him a few opportunities as the tournament progresses and is certainly one of the top 5 players who deserve to get a game in the second half of IPL 2023.

4. Dewald Brevis

Dewald Brevis was bought by Mumbai Indians in the mega auction ahead of the IPL 2022 for INR 3 crore. Brevis is also known as Baby AB because of his unconventional batting and ability to play shots all across the field.

The young Proteas batter has got the ability to tackle any bowling attack. He played 7 games for the MI franchise in the previous edition but is yet to get a game in IPL 2023.

5. Siddarth Kaul

The RCB pacer has got 58 wickets in 55 IPL games till now and is a proven performer in the domestic circuit. He has a decent economy rate of 8.63 in the cash-rich league.

Siddarth Kaul had done a decent job for his previous franchise Sunrisers Hyderabad. He hasn’t got an opportunity yet in IPL 2023 but his experience might prove to be handy for the Faf du Plessis-led side as the tournament progresses.
