Kl Rahul-led Lucknow Super Giants posted a competitive total of 154-7 on a slowish wicket at the Sawai Mansingh Stadium in Jaipur. In response to the LSG total, Rajasthan Royals’ openers Jos Buttler and Yashasvi Jaiswal got a decent start in the powerplay overs.

While Rajasthan Royals didn’t lose any wickets by the end of the 4th over of their innings, they had just put on 23 runs on the scoreboard. Young LSG pacer Yudhvir Singh came in to bowl the 5th over as both the RR batters made sure to capitalise on the fielding restrictions.

On the 4th delivery of his over, Yudhvir Singh tried cramping Jos Buttler for room as he bowled a full and angled in delivery. However, Buttler cleared his front leg and swung his bat with all his strength to deposit the ball the over the mid-wicket boundary for a huge six.

The ball travelled a distance of 112 metres as it was the second longest six of IPL 2023. By the end of his second over, Yudhvir Singh had leaked 27 runs which was a bit too much considering the kind of wicket it was.

Rajasthan Royals’ opener Jos Buttler managed to hit 4 fours and a maximum but could only score 40 runs after facing 41 deliveries. The RR batter was eventually dismissed in the 14th over by Marcus Stoinis as Ravi Bishnoi took a brilliant catch.

Yashasvi Jaiswal too was dismissed after scoring 44 runs off 35 deliveries after which no other Rajasthan Royals’ could score freely on the slow Jaipur wicket. The RR franchise could only reach to a total of 144-6 courtesy of some brilliant bowling by LSG bowlers as they fell short by 10 runs in the RR vs LSG contest.
