The 32-year-old scored 548 runs at an average and strike rate of 54.80 and 155.24 in his debut season for RR. Buttler was also the prime reason that Rajasthan made it to the final of the 2022 season. He scored a total of 863 runs in 17 innings at 57.53 and 149.05, with four centuries and four half-centuries.

Buttler has carried on his form in the 16th edition of the Indian Premier League as well. He is currently the third-highest run-scorer in the ongoing tournament. Buttler has smashed 204 runs in four innings at an average and strike rate of 51 and 170, including three half-centuries. He played a knock of 36-ball 52 to help RR win the game against Chennai Super Kings on Wednesday.

With his half-century, he completed 3000 IPL runs in this tournament. He has scored 3035 runs in 85 innings with five centuries and 18 half-centuries to his name in the cash-rich league. Buttler also became the third-fastest batter to complete 3000 runs in the IPL. He is only behind Chris Gayle and KL Rahul on this elite list. Gayle did it in 75 innings, while Rahul took 80 innings to do it.

RR registered their third win of the season on Wednesday. They won a thrilling contest against the four-time champion and won it by three runs. With that win, RR moved to the top of the table with six points and an NRR of +1.588. They lost the final to the Gujarat Titans in 2022 and ended as runners-up. But Sanju Samson and his team will look to complete the unfinished business this season.
