They were thrashed in the series opener but the way they bounced back shows why they are among the best teams in the world. Right from the toss, everything went India’s way. Bairstow came in to bat at 4 and played a couple of good shots. At 91-2, in 11 overs, and with players like Morgan and Stokes in the dug out, the platform was set for England to get a big score. However, the wicket of Jason Roy(46 off 35) turned the tides in India’s favour. Morgan, Bairstow and Stoked played small cameos but England never got the momentum they needed to post a strong total. Kohli and Kishan added 94 runs in 9 overs before Ishan Kishan missed a switch hit, only to be trapped plumb by Adil Rashid. Kishan departed for a well made 56. Pant joined Kohli at the wicket and the duo thrashed the English bowlers, adding 36 runs in 3.4 overs. England did manage to get Pant for 26 but the match was done way before that.
