The pitch at the Ekana Cricket Stadium in Lucknow was tailor-made for spin bowling which allowed KL Rahul to use as many as four spin bowling options. Courtesy of some brilliant spin bowling display, the LSG side constantly dominated the Sunrisers Hyderabad batters.

SRH opener Mayank Agarwal was dismissed by Krunal Pandya after scoring just 8 runs after which Anmolpreet Singh and Rahul Tripathi formed a partnership for the second wicket. Krunal Pandya came back into the attack in the 8th over and got back-to-back wickets to make things worse for SRH.

On the fifth delivery of his second over, Krunal Pandya made a loud LBW appeal against opener Anmolpreet Singh and got the decision in his favor. After the dismissal of the young opener, all eyes were set on Aiden Markram who was playing his first game as the skipper of the SRH franchise.

Krunal Pandya bowled a tossed-up delivery around the middle stump line to which Markram tried looking for a drive without covering the line of the delivery. The ball sharply turned past his bat and went on to dislodge the off-stump.

Aiden Markram couldn’t believe his luck as he was dismissed for a golden duck on his captaincy debut for the Sunrisers Hyderabad. Krunal Pandya eventually finished with the figures of 3 for 18 in his four-over spell in the LSG vs SRH game.

All the key SRH batters including Markram, Agarwal and Harry Brook failed to deliver on a turning track in the LSG vs SRH game as Sunrisers Hyderabad could only manage to post a total of 121 runs in front of the KL Rahul-led side. Rahul Tripathi was the only batter who showed some resilience as he scored 35 crucial runs for the SRH franchise.
