PBKS vs LSG: On Friday, the Lucknow Super Giants delivered a record-breaking performance when they took on the Punjab Kings at the PCA Stadium in Mohali. KL Rahul and his team posted the second-highest total in the IPL and became only the second IPL team to cross the 250-run mark in an inning. They scored a record total of 257/5 in the first inning. It became possible only because of a brilliant inning from Kyle Mayers at the top of the order.

He is taking on the bowlers in the power play, which has also taken off the pressure on skipper Rahul on the other hand. Former IPL star Rajat Bhatia also lauded the left-hander for his consistency. In a discussion on Cricbuzz, Bhatia said, “Quinton de Kock has not been able to get a place in the starting XI of LSG because of Kyle Mayers and Marcus Stoinis. The way Mayers started off LSG’s inning was fantastic.”

Furthermore, he also pointed out that PBKS bowlers were not on point. He said that Punjab dropped a catch early on, and then it went out of control. Stoinis was the top scorer, scoring 72 off 40, with five sixes and six boundaries. Badoni (43 off 24) and Pooran (45 off 19) also played quick innings to help Lucknow post a record total. On the other hand, PBKS tried hard but ended with a 201 all-out, losing by 56 runs. Atharva Taide scored 66 off 36, which went in vain.
