“He told me, ‘You’re a Test player’. He knew that I could face the swinging ball and adapt to it. So he sent me up top. I’ve never really done it before, and in my second game I got a hundred,” Harry Brook said on ESPN Cricinfo while revealing his conversation with Brian Lara.
I tried to get off strike to KKR spinners: Harry Brook
“I just thought, ‘Sod it, I’m going to try and hit the ball hard.’ That came off to start with. Their spinners are potentially the best in the competition, so I tried to get off strike to them and thankfully, we had a couple of good partnerships through the middle,” the SRH batter discussed about his ton in the game against KKR.

It’s worth noting that initially Harry Brook tried getting singles and doubles against the KKR spin trio of Narine, Varun, and Suyash while he kept playing aggressive shots against their pacers. He smashed a few boundaries against the spinners after he was comfortable in his position.
The SRH batter shared 72-run partnerships with both Aiden Markram and Abhishek Sharma as SunRisers Hyderabad posted a massive total of 228 runs against KKR. The Aiden Markram-led side eventually defeated them by 23 runs as they could only score 205 runs in their 20 overs.
However, Harry Brook hasn’t got much success after his brilliant ton against KKR as he has just scored 163 runs in 8 IPL 2023 games. The English batter has got success all around the globe and will certainly be looking to reciprocate the same in the second half of the cash-rich league.
