IPL 2023: With two consecutive wins under their belt, Delhi Capitals (DC) are primed for a season double against Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH) in a clash of Indian Premier League (IPL) strugglers at the Arun Jaitley Stadium in New Delhi on Saturday, hoping to unleash a powerful batting performance to complement their formidable bowling unit. SRH, having suffered three straight defeats, will be eager to turn things around and take revenge for their narrow seven-run loss to DC in their previous showdown.

The Delhi Capitals have had a shaky start to the season, winning only two of their seven games and currently languishing in the bottom half of the points table. However, they have turned their fortunes around with two consecutive victories and will be hoping to continue their winning run in their upcoming home game against SRH.

Meanwhile, Sunrisers Hyderabad suffered a heavy defeat against Delhi in their last game and have only managed two wins in seven matches, placing them in ninth position on the points table. Harry Brook has been their leading run-scorer with 163 runs in seven games, including a century, while Mayank Markande has taken eight wickets in five matches. In their previous encounter with DC, SRH failed to chase down 145 runs, losing by seven runs. They will need to improve their performance in both the batting and bowling departments if they hope to avenge their previous defeat.

3) David Warner vs Bhuvneshwar Kumar

Adorned with illustrious accomplishments, David Warner has set the bar high with an impressive score of 306 runs in seven games, embellished with four half-centuries, leading the run-scorer charts for the Capitals in the 2023 edition of IPL. While Bhuvneshwar Kumar’s impeccable performance in the previous game, where he took 2 wickets and conceded only 11 runs, could be a looming threat to Warner’s early dismissal if the pitch favors the pace bowlers, the formidable opener is expected to overcome the challenge with ease.

2) Mayank Agarwal vs Axar Patel

Agarwal has been in good form with two scores of 40+ in three recent games, boding well for the start of the second phase of IPL 2023, where he has scored 164 runs at an average of 23.42 and a strike rate of 111.56. In the last match between DC and SRH, Axar Patel was the player of the match, having taken the crucial wicket of Agarwal, who was well-set. Although Axar has only contributed with the ball in IPL 2023, he took 2 wickets for just 21 runs in the previous game, and on a slow wicket, he could be a tricky customer for Agarwal. If Agarwal opens, Warner could bring Axar into the attack during the powerplay.

1) Rahul Tripathi vs Kuldeep Yadav

SRH’s top-order batter Rahul Tripathi could play a crucial role in the upcoming match. However, SRH’s number three batters have struggled this season, collectively scoring only 160 runs in seven games at an average of 26.66 and a strike rate of 112.67, with only one fifty. In the upcoming game against DC, Tripathi will have to face the skilled spinner, Kuldeep Yadav. Recently, Kuldeep has been bowling exceptionally well, making this matchup exciting to watch. In their previous encounter against SRH, Kuldeep took one wicket and gave away only 22 runs in four overs. Kuldeep can be a challenging bowler to deal with, especially outside of the powerplay.
