MI vs DC: Suryakumar Yadav misses out on Axar Patel’s catch, gets hit above his eye
Axar Patel had scored 42 runs off just 19 deliveries as he was attacking each and every Mumbai Indians’ bowler. Left-arm pacer Jason Behrendorff came in to bowl the 17th over as Rohit Sharma wanted to restrict the pair of David Warner and Axar Patel.
Behrendorff bowled a slower short delivery as Axar Patel pulled it over the long-on boundary for a maximum. The Mumbai Indians pacer went back to his natural length trying to restrict Axar Patel but the Delhi Capitals’ batter was not in a mood to stop and connected this delivery as well.

However, this time he found the fielder on the long-on boundary as it looked like the fielder will take a simple catch. Suryakumar Yadav, who was placed on the long-on boundary tried to take the catch over his head but the ball went past his palms and hit him just above his eye.
The ball then parried behind and crossed the boundary rope as the umpire signaled a six. Mumbai Indians’ physio came in to check for a concussion but Suryakumar seemed to be fine while he did leave the field as Ramandeep came in as a substitute fielder.
Axar Patel’s catch did prove to be costly for the Mumbai Indians as the DC all-rounder went on to complete his fifty. Axar Patel played a swashbuckling knock of 54 runs while playing just 25 deliveries including 4 fours and 5 maximums.
