SRH VS DC: Kuldeep Yadav Heaps Praise on David Warner

Delhi Capitals (DC) left-arm wrist spinner Kuldeep Yadav showered accolades on his captain, David Warner, after the team’s win over Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH) in the ongoing IPL 2023 season on Monday, April 24. For the first time since the tournament’s inception, the Delhi Capitals successfully defended a target that was below 150 runs. Kuldeep acknowledged that Warner had faith in his bowlers and allowed them the freedom to express themselves during the match. 

The Delhi Capitals achieved their second successive victory in Hyderabad, courtesy of an impressive bowling display that resulted in a seven-run triumph. Warner’s decision to bat first on the day raised eyebrows, but it ultimately proved to be the correct choice. During the match defending a 145-run target, Axar and Kuldeep demonstrated their economical skills in the middle overs which built pressure on the SRH batters. Axar contributed to the team by taking down two critical wickets belonging to Mayank Agarwal and Aiden Markram, while Kuldeep Yadav from the Delhi team grabbed one wicket in the match.

In an interview with reporters after the game, Yadav expressed admiration for his skipper’s call to bat first and also spoke highly of Warner’s confidence in the bowlers during the second innings. Yadav’s remarks are a testament to the camaraderie and trust shared by the team members, and it is no wonder that the Delhi Capitals have started the tournament with back-to-back wins.

“He has played here for seven years. He knows the conditions well and that’s why he opted to bat first. Wicket was slow and he thought it probably is difficult to chase. As a bowling unit, he believed in us. He gave freedom to each and everyone. We believed it as a team and as a bowling unit, we had done really throughout the tournament. We still need to improve in our batting,” said Kuldeep Yadav as quoted by Indian Express.

DC has a talented pool of players and their performances so far have been impressive. With Warner’s astute leadership and Kuldeep’s exceptional bowling skills, the team will undoubtedly look to continue their winning streak and make a strong statement in the IPL. Warner and his team continued their revival by achieving back-to-back victories after losing their first five matches of the season, as they won against SRH.
