Rajasthan Royals got off to a great start courtesy of their opening batter Yashasvi Jaiswal who went all guns blazing against the Chennai Super Kings’ bowling lineup. Young batters Devdutt Padikkal and Dhruv Jurel too played aggressive knocks and took the RR total to 182-4 by the end of the 19th over.

The young RR batter smashed a six and a four off the first two deliveries of the final over bowled by Matheesha Pathirana. Jurel then got a single off the third delivery and looked to get back to strike as Devdutt Padikkal couldn’t score a boundary on the third delivery.

Pathirana bowled a low full toss outside the leg-stump as Devdutt Padikkal tried to flick it. Dhruv Jurel quickly looked to get a bye but MS Dhoni was quite aware as he grabbed the ball and in no time flicked it back and got a direct hit at the stumps.

The RR batter was clearly short of his crease as he was dismissed after playing a scintillating knock of 34 runs off just 15 deliveries including 3 fours and 2 maximums. On the other hand, Devdutt Padikkal played an unbeaten knock of 27 runs off just 13 deliveries.

Just as MS Dhoni removed the in-form Rajasthan Royals’ batter, chants of Dhoni-Dhoni started to echo at the Sawai Mansingh stadium in Jaipur. The RR franchise eventually went on to post a massive total of 202-5 in their 20 overs.

Rajasthan Royals’ bowlers made sure to dominate CSK batting lineup throughout the innings and kept on taking wickets at regular intervals. The MS Dhoni-led side eventually fell short by 32 runs in the CSK vs RR game as they could only score 170 runs in their 20 overs.
