CSK vs SRH: The four-time champion Chennai Super Kings took on Sunrisers Hyderabad on Friday in the 29th game of the 16th edition of the Indian Premier League at the MA Chidambaram Stadium, Chennai. The match ended as an easy win for the home team, and CSK won it by 7 wickets to jump to third place with 8 points and an NRR of +0.355. It was a packed stadium, and every fan came out to see MS Dhoni bat.

Though the CSK skipper didn’t get the opportunity to bat, he was not needed. But he showed some brilliant work behind the wickets. Dhoni was involved in a brilliant stumping and run-out and also took the catch. He also went past Quinton De Kock (207 catches) to take the most catches behind the wicket. At the age of 41, MSD was looking as sharp as any youngster and has done well in this tournament so far.

He almost won his team the game against RR with his power-hitting in the last over. Notably, many reports claimed the CSK skipper might play his last season in 2023 and retire.

Though there isn’t an official report, Dhoni gave everyone a hint. After the game on Friday, Harsha Bhogle questioned him about how he manages the support and love of the fans when he comes to Chepauk. Dhoni said,

Speaking of the game, CSK won the toss and opted to bowl first. The Sunrisers struggled throughout the inning and managed only a below-par score of 134/7 in their 20 overs. Ravindra Jadeja (3/22) picked up three wickets in the first inning. In reply, Chennai had an opening partnership of 87 runs. Devon Conway remained unbeaten on 77 off 57 to guide CSK to victory.
