Brisbane Heat managed to snag up a win in their third match of the Big Bash League 2022 schedule but Sam Heazlett expects his teams’ batters to up their game a notch. They are currently languishing in seventh place on the points table. Heat needs to come up with better performances from here on.

One way to do it would be to improve their batting which has been below-par so far. With big names like Chris Lynn and Ben Duckett in their ranks, the totals they’ve put up on the board have been disappointing. Currently, Heazlett is the top scorer with 120 runs in three matches.

Heat’s highest total this season is 151-all out that came in a losing cause. Their solitary win came in a run chase of 141 which was supposed to be straight forward but Heat managed to make it complicated. If not for Heazlett’s 29-ball 44, they might have had some issues chasing it down.

The bowlers have done a really good job all three games. Batting wise we still probably haven’t put a polished performance in. We need a guy in the top four to be getting 60, 70, 80 plus so we’ve got somewhere to launch from in the back end, and we haven’t had that yet.

We need someone to be there for a large portion of the innings and be there at the (Power) Surge to score quick runs and keep that momentum through to the death,” Heazlett said ahead of their next game against Sydney Thunder.

Sam Heazlett is happy to bat at No. 4

The 26-year-old Sam Heazlett started off his Big Bash League (BBL) career as a top-order batsman. However, his role was changed last season and he now comes after Duckett in the batting order. It hasn’t taken too long for Heazlett to adapt to the role and he seems to be enjoying it. The match is a real opportunity for some betting, and here are the best cricket betting sites in India.

I don’t really mind too much, but I finished the year last season batting at four and scored some runs there in the second last game and I felt comfortable there. I’m enjoying that role of having to come in and be adaptable. It’s been good to score a few runs and I’ve had a few things go my way. Hopefully, I can continue on with that momentum now,” Heazlett added.

Currently, Heazlett has become Brisbane Heat’s go-to batsman following the failure of the top three. If at all the Heat side has any hopes of making the playoffs, they need to start popping off.
