The Mumbai Indians batter came in to bat when his side was in a spot of bother against the Royal Challengers Bangalore. After losing the wickets of Ishan Kishan, Cameron Green and Rohit Sharma, the MI team management sent Tilak Varma to the number 5 position.

Meanwhile, Mumbai Indians’ key batter Suryakumar Yadav too lost his wicket after scoring 15 off 16 deliveries. After the dismissal of Suryakumar Yadav, it was indeed a one-man show from young Tilak Varma who went on to score 84 off just 46 deliveries and remained unbeaten.

RCB VS MI: Harshal Patel came in to bowl the 20th over of Mumbai Indians’ innings. MI batters Tilak Varma and Arshad Khan took on the experienced pacer as they scored 16 runs including a boundary and a six in the first five deliveries.

Harshal Patel then bowled a slower full-length ball to Tilak Varma who was ready to heave it. The Mumbai batter played a helicopter shot and cleared the long-on boundary with a fair margin as he took the Mumbai Indians side to a competitive total of 171-7.

Tilak Varma’s helicopter shot was applauded by the fans and cricket pundits. The video of his helicopter shot went viral across social media platforms as he was also compared with MS Dhoni who had invented the helicopter shot.

In response to Mumbai Indians’ total, RCB got off to a flying start as their openers Virat Kohli and Faf du Plessis scored quick-fire fifties. The RCB side eventually chased down the total with 22 deliveries remaining.
