IPL 2023: “MS Dhoni has done his work. What more do we want from him?” – Kapil Dev
During the rain delay, former Indian captain Kapil Dev, who led India to the 1983 ODI World Cup, shared his opinion on Dhoni’s retirement. He praised the CSK skipper for leading his team to record 10th IPL final and also said that he will not be playing for the rest of his life. In an interview with ABP News, Kapil said,

“He has been playing IPL for 15 years. He has done his work. What more do we want from him? Do we want him to play all his life? That is not going to happen. We should instead be thankful that he played for 15 years. Whether he plays next year or not, before departing he has played impressively. He may not have scored big runs but he led the team to the final and it shows what is the importance of a skipper in the game of cricket.”
Everyone was eagerly waiting for the rain to stop, but it played spoilsport. The whole day was washed out. Notably, as per the rule, if it continues to rain even on Monday (reserve day) then by default, Gujarat Titans will retain their championship. The rule suggests that the team with a higher rank in the group stage will become the champion if there is no play.
