After the game, the RCB opening batsman Virat Kohli and LSG mentor Gautam Gambhir got into a heated argument. The argument cost both the players their match fees. Furthermore, young Afghanistan player Naveen-Ul-Haq involved himself in a brawl with Virat Kohli during the match, which cost him 50% of his match fees. 

Previously, LSG and RCB locked horns in the Chinnaswamy stadium and the match went as a decider till the last ball. The aggression of both teams seemed to continue in the latest match.

Virat Kohli paid a fine of ₹1.07 Crores for the ugly spat in the match, while Gautam Gambhir and Naveen Ul-Haq paid ₹25 Lakhs and ₹1.79 Lakhs respectively by the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI). 

“Mr. Gambhir admitted to the Level 2 offense under Article 2.21 of the IPL Code of Conduct. He was fined 100 percent of his match fee. Similarly, Mr. Kohli admitted to the Level 2 offense under Article 2.21 of the IPL Code of Conduct. He was fined 100 percent of his match fee. Moreover, Mr. Naveen-ul-Haq, on the other hand, was fined 50 percent of his match fees for breaching the IPL Code of Conduct during the match against Royal Challengers Bangalore.”

RCB chose to bat first on the slow pitch of Bharat Ratna Shri Atal Bihari Vajpayee Ekana Cricket Stadium, Lucknow. With a continuous fall of wickets, Royal Challengers Bangalore could only manage to score 126 runs. 

With a low target to defend, RCB’s lethal bowling attack managed to bowl out Lucknow Super Giants’ entire team for 108 runs in 19.4 overs. Krishnappa Gowtham became the highest run-scorer for the team and scored 23 runs. Josh Hazelwood made his debut for Royal Challengers Bangalore and got to wickets of Ayush Badoni and Naveen-Ul-Haq.
