Shubman Gill has become not just India’s, but the cricket fraternity’s one of the most favourite players since he has done a commendable job as the opening batsman of Gujarat Titans. Shubman Gill has scored three back-to-back centuries for the recent crucial matches of Gujarat Titans (against Sunrisers Hyderabad, Royal Challengers Bangalore and Mumbai Indians).

Aakash Chopra recently analysed the final game of IPL 2023 between Gujarat Titans and Chennai Super Kings exclusively on his YouTube channel, as the game shifted to the reserve day. Gujarat Titans qualified for the final match of the playoffs after shattering Mumbai Indians’ dream of lifting their IPL title. The team will lock horns with Chennai Super Kings in their home ground, the Narendra Modi Stadium Ahmedabad.

The final match of IPL 2023 was scheduled on 28 May, but it was unfortunately abandoned as Ahmedabad saw continuous rainfall throughout the day. Fortunately, the final match had a reserve day scheduled and IPL 2023 will witness the final clash on the subsequent day of 29 May.

Aakash Chopra analyzed Shubman Gill’s performance while Batting first and Chasing

The former Indian opening batsman and Jio cinema cricket expert Akash Chopra had some interesting observations about Shubman Gill‘s performance as his team Gujarat Titans bats first to give the opponents a target or while chasing the target they have received. Aakash Chopra talked about Shubman’s average while batting first and while chasing.

Aakash Chopra talked about how Shubman Gill has an insane average of a hundred while batting first in Ahmedabad as he has scored multiple half-centuries and one century on the ground.

“If Shubman Gill bats first, his average is close to 100. He has scored more than one century here and half-centuries as well, but most of these runs have come while batting first,” said Aakash Chopra while analysing the final game between Gujarat Titans and Chennai Super Kings on his YouTube channel.

Unfortunately, when Shubman Gill begins to chase a target set by an opponent team on the ground of the Narendra Modi stadium, his average drops low to 40 which looks less for him considering how successful Shubman Gill has been in the T20 format. It may look normal and good for other players, but for a player like him, it looks really low.

“When he comes to chase, in fact, he scored runs against this team only in the first match, he has scored runs after that as well but the average falls to 40. An average of 40 looks less if we see it from his viewpoint, it is well played for the others, but there is a stark difference,” said Aakash Chopra while analysing the final game between Gujarat Titans and Chennai Super Kings on his YouTube channel.

Aakash Chopra and Hardik Pandya’s performance as a player in IPL 2023

Aakash Chopra also talked about Gujarat Titans’ skipper Hardik Pandya‘s performance as an All-Rounder player in IPL 2023. Akash believes Hardik while playing the role of the batsman and the bowler hasn’t turned up much for the team although he was the Player of the Match in the last year’s final where in Gujarat Titans lifted their maiden IPL title in the debut year.

Aakash also talked about how everyone expects that a big and successful player like Hardik Pandya who also portrays the role of the captain really well will turn out to be good on the big stage. Unfortunately, which has not been that good until now.

Chopra believes this season of the Indian Premier League 2023 has been extremely cold based on Hardik Pandya’s ability but this might all change for the Indian team in the upcoming tournaments.
