Preview
The Sri Lanka-Bangladesh series was expected to be a closely fought affair. However, the series has just gone one way as Sri Lanka have failed to show any resistance and consequently, are on the verge of a whitewash against Bangladesh. Though the bowlers have done a decent job, the batting has let them down. Interestingly, batting was their stronger department.
Bangladesh too hasn’t been at their best but Mushfiqur Rahim and the bowlers have got them over the line. Looking at the misery of Sri Lanka batsmen, Bangladesh would back themselves to clean sweep Sri Lanka tomorrow.
Pitch Report
The wickets have been sluggish in nature and have offered plenty of assistance to the spinners. The pacers have got the ball to move early on. However, the wicket is not unplayable by any means and once set, plenty of runs are for the taking.

Both Bangladesh and Sri Lanka are coming back from defeats in their previous series. While Bangladesh was annihilated by New Zealand, Sri Lanka bowed down to West Indies. At home, Bangladesh will feel more confident about their chances. The Tamim Iqbal led side has been bolstered by the return of their ace all-rounder Shakib al Hasan. In addition, Tamim Iqbal, Mushfiqur Rahim, Soumya Sarkar, Liton Das form a formidable batting line-up. Also, they have a perfect mix of pace and spin in the bowling department and the all-rounders add a lot of depth to the team.
The visitors, on the other hand, heavily rely on Kusal Perera, Kusal Mendis and Dhananjaya de Silva. Sri Lanka have dropped their senior players like Angelo Mathews, Dimuth Karunaratne and Dinesh Chandimal for this series thus they are short on experience. If the aforementioned trio fails to perform, Sri Lanka will be in trouble. Also, their bowling looks bleak. They will need big performances from the spin duo of Akila Dananjaya and Wanindu Hasaranga.
Pitch Report
The pitch should be a good cricketing wicket. While there shouldn’t be much on offer for the pacers, spinners will play a big role. Also, the wicket might get slower as the match progresses.

Shakib Al Hasan – An outstanding all-rounder who is currently ranked number one in ICC rankings. Shakib has a lot to offer, both with the bat and ball.
