Earlier, the record for the fastest fifty in IPL was held by KL Rahul and Pat Cummins both of whom had scored a fifty in just 14 deliveries. Yashasvi Jaiswal has now scored 575 runs this season overtaking MI batter Ishan Kishan’s record of most runs in an IPL season by an uncapped Indian player.

RR vs KKR: Yashasvi Jaiswal smashes 13-ball fifty, broke the record of fastest fifty in IPL history

Kolkata Knight Riders’ skipper Nitish Rana decided to bowl the first over himself and the RR opener decided to attack against him. Jaiswal smashed 26 runs off Nitish Rana’s over smashing a couple of sixes and 3 fours to set the tone for Rajasthan Royals.

Rajasthan Royals did lose the important wicket of Jos Buttler in the second over bowled by Harshit Rana but Jaiswal didn’t change his aggressive approach. He smashed a four and a six off consecutive deliveries and kept the momentum going for the RR side.

Yashasvi Jaiswal then decided to attack Shardul Thakur in the next over and hit hat-trick of fours. Jaiswal reached the fifty-mark in just 13 deliveries and broke the record for the fastest fifty in IPL history and impressed the cricket fraternity yet again.

Jaiswal eventually scored unbeaten 98 off just 47 balls with 13 fours and 5 maximums but couldn’t score his second century in IPL 2023. RR skipper Sanju Samson too played a crucial knock of 48 runs off just 29 deliveries including 2 fours and 5 maximums.

Kolkata Knight Riders had posted a below-par total of 149-8 in their 20 overs after which they would have expected their bowlers to create some sort of impact in the game. However, Yashasvi Jaiswal’s swashbuckling knock never allowed them to bowl on a particular line and lengths as the RR side chased down the total in just 13.1 overs.
