“We don’t have..”- Rahul Dravid reveals why India picked Prasidh Krishna as Hardik Pandya’s replacement
Team India suffered a massive blow when Hardik Pandya got injured in the game against Bangladesh at the MCA Stadium in Pune. He twisted his ankle and was ruled out of a few games. However, there were some media reports that he might recover in time and join India before the start of the semi-finals. But now, the BCCI has confirmed that Hardik has been ruled out of the remaining competition.
The all-rounder couldn’t recover in time and was ruled out. The BCCI also announced the replacement for the all-rounder, and they didn’t go for any all-round option. In fact, India picked pacer Prasidh Krishna as the replacement for Hardik Pandya. Some fans were surprised to know the replacement, and many thought that Axar Patel or Washington Sundar would have been a great option because they can contribute with both the bat and the ball.

Notably, India will face South Africa in their next game on Sunday, which will take place at the Eden Gardens in Kolkata. Ahead of the game, the Indian head coach came out to address the media and discuss India’s plan for the upcoming games. He also revealed the reason why India chose Prasidh Krishna to fill the role of Hardik Pandya.
Dravid said, “Since we have been playing with three pacers after Hardik Pandya got injured and we don’t have any backups for our three pacers, that’s why we picked Prasidh Krishna as a replacement.” It is a big show to fill because Hardik is an important member of the side and is a game-changer.
However, India has picked Mohammed Shami and Suryakumar Yadav to replace Hardik. It has worked so far, but India has lacked a sixth bowling option. It will be interesting to see how India will go when the opposition attacks their main bowlers. So far, Shami has done a brilliant job with the ball, and India hasn’t missed Hardik.
