After winning the coin toss, CSK skipper MS Dhoni didn’t hesitate to bowl first. However, the CSK bowlers didn’t get off to a great start with MI openers Rohit Sharma and Ishan Kishan finding boundaries at will. CSK suffered a major blow with Deepak Chahar getting injured in the first over of the second innings. After completing the first over he didn’t come back to bowl the remaining three overs. Despite losing Chahar, Tushar Deshpande knocked Rohit Sharma out with a peach of a delivery.

IPL 2023, CSK VS MI: Rahane Blitz Helps CSK Floor MI
CSK’s record in Mumbai hasn’t been great and like the old times, they lost one of their openers in the first over of the run-chase. Devon Conway was the first to depart without opening his account. Walked in on Ajinkya Rahane, who was playing his first game in the Yellow jersey. Rahane came out of the syllabus for MI bowlers and ended up smashing the fastest IPL fifty of the season off just 19 balls. He bashed the bowlers to all parts of the ground after his first few deliveries. His knock of 61 off 27 balls, studded with 7 fours and 3 sixes, titled the game towards the visitors’ camp.
