3 Player with 2-crore Base Price who are likely to go unsold at the IPL 2024 Auction
IPL 2024 Auction: The preparations for the 17th edition of the Indian Premier League are in full swing. All ten franchises have retained their core set of players and will be looking to sign some important players at the coming auction. The IPL 2024 auction is scheduled to take place on December 19 in the UAE.
A total of 333 players will come under the hammer. There are 23 players, including three Indians, in the top bracket of INR 2 crore. This category includes some of the biggest names, like Pat Cummins, Mitchell Starc, Travis Head, and others. But there are a few who might have set a bit higher price and are likely to go unsold.
IPL 2024 Auction: 3 Players in 2-Crore Price Category who are likely to go unsold
3. Jamie Overton – England
English bowling all-rounder Jamie Overton has also registered with a base price of INR 2 crore. He is a decent all-rounder but has played only one test for England. But he has yet to prove himself at the international level. On the other hand, with limited slots available for overseas stars, there are chances that he might go unsold.
2. Ben Duckett – England
English batter Ben Duckett is another player who has a base price of INR 2 crore. He is a top-order batter who can also keep the wickets. But most of the IPL teams have a settled top order, which might end against him. Hence, there are big chances that Duckett might go unsold at the IPL 2024 auction.
1. James Vince – England
Another English name that is likely to go unsold at the auction is James Vince. The 32-year-old is a veteran superstar who has played in different leagues across the globe, but he has not made his IPL debut yet. Vince has played for England across all three formats, but there are not many big performances under his belt. That is one reason that he hasn’t attracted IPL franchises so far, and it might be the same story once again.
