3 Big International Stars That are not shortlisted to feature at the IPL 2024 Auction
The auction for the upcoming season of the Indian Premier League will take place in Dubai on December 19. A total of 333 players have been shortlisted to feature at the IPL 2024 auction. Notably, there were 1165 players who submitted their names for the auction procedure, but more than 830 players were not shortlisted.
However, there were some big international stars as well who were shortlisted for the auction, which came as a surprise to many fans. In this article, we will talk about three international stars who were not shortlisted for the upcoming IPL 2024 auction.
Three International Stars who are not part of the IPL 2024 Auction
1. Dawid Malan
There was a time when England’s Dawid Malan was the No. 1 ranked T20I batter for more than a year. In fact, he is the fastest batter to reach 1000 T20I runs. But his current form in the shorter format hasn’t been that good, and the southpaw is also not part of England’s T20I setup. That might be the reason that he was not shortlisted for the IPL 2024 auction. Malan has played only one IPL game for PBKS.
2. Angelo Matthews
Veteran Sri Lankan all-rounder Angelo Matthews also submitted his name for the auction with a price of INR 2 crore. But he was not shortlisted. The 37-year-old has played 49 IPL matches, but he played his last game in the 2017 season. Though he was pretty good with his performance in the Abu Dhabi T10 2023, he hasn’t made it for the auction.
3. Kane Richardson
Australian pacer Kane Richardson made his IPL debut in 2013 for the Pune Warriors and was also part of the 2021 season. He is still a prominent name in the Australian white-ball setup and BBL. He registered himself at a base price of INR 1.5 crore, but he wasn’t shortlisted. Richardson has a huge experience with this format. He has played 183 games and taken 229 wickets.
