Ajinkya Rahane Willing to Bat at Any Position for Skipper MS Dhoni
The newest addition to the Chennai Super Kings (CSK) squad Ajinkya Rahane insists that he is willing to play in any position and perform any role that captain MS Dhoni and the team management want him to in the upcoming season of the Indian Premier League (IPL 2023). Chennai purchased the veteran Indian batter for INR 50 lakh in the last year’s auction.
The four-time IPL winner, CSK will kickstart the 2023 season on Friday, March 31 against the defending champions Gujarat Titans (GT) at the iconic Narendra Modi Stadium in Ahmedabad. Moreover, CSK’s starting XI is finalized as few players will be unavailable for the first game. Rahane, who has been training with the team since early March, is most likely to sit out for the game against the Titans.

Speaking to reporters ahead of the IPL 2023 tournament opener, Rahane said that for him team always comes first which is why he will take up any position and role given to him. The top-order batter further said that he’s baffing well and if the opportunity comes his way he will cash on that.
Ultimate Team Man- Ajinkya Rahane
“I have always been an opener. I have always opened the batting in the T20 format, so not much of a difference in my role. Still, whatever the management and captain asks me to do, I am always open to doing it. For me, it’s always about the team, so whenever I get an opportunity I will give my best. Personally, I am batting really well, had a good domestic season. It is all about having fun but looking to learn every time and nothing changes. So, whenever I get a chance, I would like to contribute my best,” Ajinkya Rahane told the reporters.

Chennai’s star opener Ruturaj Gaikwad will start the innings with Devon Conway. In that case, Rahane will be unfortunate to miss out. The middle order is packed so if Dhoni wants to include Rahane in XI at some stage of the tournament, he will have to create space at the top of the order.
CSK’s decision to acquire the services of the ex-Rajasthan Royals skipper did not get favorable reviews from many cricket pundits and fans around the globe. He would love to prove his critics wrong by performing well if given a chance in any of the games.
