“MS Dhoni said to me..”- Suresh Raina reveals his chat with MSD about retirement
Just like MS Dhoni, Raina also made his IPL debut for the Chennai Super Kings in the inaugural season in 2008. Since then, he has played with the team until the 2021 season. Raina is also the second player after MSD to captain CSK in the tournament. Recently, he was seen in a home game for Chennai against the Mumbai Indians.

After the game, he interacted with the CSK players and the skipper. Notably, in his recent interaction on Jio Cinema, the southpaw revealed what the CSK skipper told him about his retirement. He said, “Main trophy jeetke ek saal aur khelunga (After winning the trophy, I will play for one more year).”
This season, there have been some moments when Dhoni indicated that it might be his last IPL season. In one game at Eden Gardens, he thanked the crowd, which came in large numbers to support him, and said that it is his last phase of his career.
Earlier, after the conclusion of the IPL 2022, he said that he wanted to play his last season in front of the home crowd at Chepauk Stadium. However, after a disappointing season in 2022, CSK are looking in great shape at the moment. They are currently second on the points table with 13 points. Chennai will lock horns with the Delhi Capitals in their next game on Wednesday.
