IPL 2023, RCB VS LSG: Faf du Plessis Upbeat for the Lucknow Game

IPL 2023, RCB VS LSG: Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB) captain Faf du Plessis reckons that the Lucknow Super Giants (LSG) have a very well-balanced squad and to bring them down his team will have to be at the top of their game. RCB and LSG are set to lock horns in match number 15 of the IPL 2023 at the M. Chinnaswamy stadium in Bangalore on April 10, Monday.

RCB beat MI in the opening match but succumbed to an 81-run loss against Kolkata Knight Riders in their next game. Now they will face LSG, a team that has won 2 games in the league so far. LSG has registered one-sided victories against their opponents at their home ground in Lucknow so far while losing narrowly to the Chennai Super Kings (CSK) in Chennai, despite batting well in all three matches so far. LSG has a well-settled squad. The composition of their team allows their players to be flexible with their roles.

The KL Rahul-led will be eyeing their first win of the season. Faf is aware of the challenges that LSG can pose in Monday night’s game but remains confident that his team will put on a strong performance against Lucknow Super Giants (LSG) on April 10 at the Chinnaswamy Stadium in the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2023 

“I think it is always important whether you are winning or losing. Let us just look at areas where you feel like we can improve, but also identify the areas in which you are doing well. After some matches, like the heavy defeat last time, you can sometimes overanalyze things. Both the new teams have played really well. LSG has a very well-balanced squad. When you have a blank canvas at the auction, you can pretty much set up a team really well from a balanced perspective. They are a very good team, so we have to be at the top of our game as well,” Faf du Plessis said on RCB Game Day.

Talking about du Plessis’ record against the LSG. The RCB skipper played a couple of matches against Lucknow last season, where he amassed 96 runs with the help of a half-century and at a strike rate of 147.69, and would want to pounce upon that record. RCB will have to improve on their death bowling front if they want to outclass the Lucknow-based team.
