PAK VS AUS: On Day 2 of the Lahore Test between Australia and Pakistan, former Australian cricketer Michael Kasprowicz panicked on live. Prior to the last game, sources claimed that PCB chairman Ramiz Raja had issued a directive prohibiting broadcasters from discussing the ‘flatness’ of the fields. However, Kasprowicz ended up pronouncing the surface in Lahore ‘flat’ while in full flow, before understanding what he had done. For live cricket betting odds and match updates, read more here.

He apologized and modified his pitch remark to ‘great batting strips.’

PAK VS AUS: Michael Kasprowicz Changes Remark About ‘Flat Pitch’ To ‘Beautiful Batting Strips’

“It’s important, isn’t it. We talk about the spinners, the variations, the speed is certainly one of those things. But also for the fast bowlers, and certainly Mitchell Starc’s speeds have been very consistent here at 140.”

“But I think, the key also, on these flat wickets — sorry, on these good batting strips, beautiful batting strips…” Kasprowicz was quoted as saying.

The reports arose after Australia’s historic tour’s first two Tests ended in draws. The second Test became fascinating after Australian bowlers extracted reverse swing after the first Test was as dull as it gets. It eventually came to a stalemate as well. So far, the third Test has gone in the same direction. The Australian side batted first and scored 391 runs, with Usman Khawaja, Steve Smith, Cameron Green, and Alex Carey all scoring 50s. Pakistan had a 90/1 chance at the end of Day 2 of play.

In the meantime, the first Test at the Rawalpindi Cricket Stadium was a complete washout, with only 14 wickets falling in five days. In the third innings, Abdullah Shafique and Imam-ul-Haq put on an unbeaten 252-run partnership for the opening wicket. Ramiz Raja claimed that the hosts took the initiative to take the advantage away from the Australian fast bowlers after the first Test ended in a tie.

Both teams are competing for valuable WTC points. They are now in the top two places, but any further draws will only hurt their prospects of reaching the finals. Other possibilities for the WTC final are South Africa and India.

After the match, the final decision on the pitch for the 3rd Test will be made. However, according to expert Michael Kasprowicz, it’s a flat pitch, at least when the first assessment is taken into account. The former Australian bowler is in Pakistan to work as a commentator.

Following the Test series, a white-ball series will take place between two sides. The three one-day internationals will take place on March 29, March 31, and April 2. The one-off T20I will take place on April 5th.

Lahore will host all of the white-ball matches. For the ODIs and T20Is, Australia has rested many of their first-choice players. Find more Cricket betting sites listed here on our site.
